This causes people to strip away the fundamentals, leaving only specific actions, disconnected from root causes, to characterize their comments. Cognitively, observers are left with the mentality of a lab rat (that responds to actions by reversing cause and effect) leaving only intuition and non sequiturs as explanations. Because of this the events of modern times are interpreted as if they were laboratory experiments - billiard balls bouncing off one another – leaving men to understand only the emotional aspects of events without connection to fundamental principles. A good example is the recent fist to the throat of Caitlin Clark by Alyssa Thomas in a recent WNBA basketball game.
