Back Matter "The Scourge of Racism and the Cure" by Robert Villegas

Core Premises of “The Scourge of Racism and the Cure” by Robert Villegas

The core premise of this book is that racism is a product of modern philosophy and not of ignorance and bigotry stemming from the lower classes. If you analyze the ideas of philosopher such as Linneaus, Hume, and Kant you will find the foundational principles that created racism. The vernacular of these philosopher assumes that races exist and that these races are characterized by skin color, class, and low education.

In this book I also show the quotes from their writings that expose the racist premises they bequeathed to the higher echelons of society and got them thinking racially which confirmed the idea that the lower races were inferior types. In other words, modern philosophers and their ilk were not against racism; they were, in fact, racists.

I also show how society can change thinking and abandon the racist ideas of these philosophers and cure society of the scourge of racism by means of learning that skin color is one of the most common of traits and that the species known as man is of only one race whose distinguishing characteristic was not skin color but his ability to reason. I argue that skin color is irrelevant and does not characterize races. I argue that all men have the ability to reason. Man is one species and the sooner he realizes that superficial characteristics are just that, superficial and unimportant as a racial marker.

Also discussed is my assessment of recent DNA studies on the issue of race and how various "groupings" of people were misidentified as white or black. I suggest that there is no such thing as a "white" or "black" race and there is no DNA evidence of distinct "races". In effect, when it comes to the idea of race, the term is unscientific and pseudo-scientific in nature. In fact, racism is an invention of modern philosophy (Linnaeus, Hume, and Kant) and has no epistemologically sound basis for its use today as "racial theory". Racial theory is therefore an anti-conceptual framework that has no philosophical or scientific basis.
